A long day as a Vendor at the The Worlds Greatest County Fair means a day full of trying delicious food all day long. Here is our list and review on what we tried today!
Ollie's Crab Fritters 🦀
I am not a seafood eater but I've been trying to expand my pallet and try new things. I've tried conch fritters so decided to give these a go!
The fritters were delicious, didn't taste too much like seafood but still had a large amount of crab. The sauce was the best part, a little spice and a ton of flavor. We will be back for seconds! 8/10
Campbell's Consessions Fresh Lemonade
To go with the Crab Fritters we had some Fresh Lemonade. We Tried the Blue Raspberry, Strawberry and Original. It's not my favorite lemonade at the fair but still good. The Original was probably the favorite between the 3. 7/10
Duke's Quebec Style Poutine
A must have every year. Who doesn't love fries, gravy and cheese curds! 10/10 will get every year. (Maybe more than once)
Godfathers Pickle Pizza
It's a must try!! The sauce is creamy and pairs perfectly with the pickles. One slice was more than enough! Very rich, salty and very filling. 9/10 Will get again!
Bucket O Cheese Curds
Another fair staple. Who doesn't love cheese curds!? Cajun, Ranch, Garlic and Original. Every flavor was delicious. The group favorite was Ranch (of course, we are in Iowa!) Another item I will continue to get every year! ...add in a side or marinara sauce for dipping 11/10!
We have a long week of the fair ahead of us, which means so many more food options to try. I know I'll be hitting up the cheesecake food truck at least once, and Black Earth Java Coffee will be a lifesaver for early mornings. Any suggestions or favorites we should try!?
